The founder of the university-Kasim Zh.Zh. is the candidate of physical and mathematical science, professor, academician of MAI, honorable worker of education of Republic of Kazakhstan, owner of the personal honorable gold medal of Shaptal from the French Association, author of the own concept «Education – is the driven & productive force of the society» & also one of the models of modern continuous process of education.

Kokshetau University ,working on the market of educational services, having passed the state certification with success both times(in 2000 & in 2005),having incorporated huge experience, scientific & pedagogical potential, remarkable traditions of the oldest universities of the Republic in, was founded in 1993 in a one row with first non-state universities of sovereign Kazakhstan.

There are 2 institutes, working in the structure of the university. (Humanitarian & technical, historical & pedagogical)

There are 11 fuculties, 5 labs, the center of the remote education, scientific & technical park with innovative research centre & factorial site, center of archeology, center of knowledge testing & auditing, archive, lab of the sports medicine, printing house, TV studio, named «Zhazira» & animation studio.

There is also «Kokshe» college & Kazakh-humanitarian lyceum, which lead a successful educational activity together with the university.

The university has a state license (AA №0000092), which gives a possibility to lead an educational activity in 15 faculties & directions of the supreme professional education, & also in 2 specialties of magistracy.

There is a perfect library, existing in the university. The book fund of the library is universal & has more than 333 759 copies, among them there are 62 450 of educational & scientific literature in Kazakh language, there are also 939 copies on the electronic carrier, among them 33 copies are in Kazakh language. The fund is replenished with new copies every year.

In 2004 the service of the management of quality was found in Kokshetau University. In 2006 the system of the management of quality was certificated in conformity with international standard requirements of «ISO 9001:2001».

The university has a resolution for publication of the republican magazine « exposed education».

The university is the member of the educational net- Ednet.

There are 2 republican news-papers, publishing by the university: « Eastern single combats » & «Ecological bulletin ».

Quarterly the printing house of the university publishes: beginning from 2001-«The bulletin of the Kokshetau university » & « Student's life».

Publishing council cooperates actively with the State Book House of Republic of Kazakhstan.
